Design Engineer - Highways & Drainage
Leeds
There's never been a better time to join this growing multidisciplinary Consultancy.
Following a series of positive changes across the business, the Leeds office has developed a culture that's stronger than it's been for years. Couple that with a significant influx of new projects, and they're now looking to appoint an Infrastructure Engineer to help support the next phase of growth.
This is a genuinely collaborative team where people enjoy coming into the office. Whilst the business offers hybrid working with a minimum expectation of three days per week in the office, the reality is that most of the team choose to come in more often. The atmosphere, support from colleagues and ability to solve problems together have created an environment where people genuinely enjoy working alongside one another rather than simply working from home whenever possible.
You'll be joining a team that delivers infrastructure design from the earliest planning stages through to construction across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, industrial and energy developments. Day-to-day you'll be involved in the design of highways, drainage and flood risk solutions, preparing technical reports including Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, liaising with local authorities and statutory undertakers, and supporting projects through every stage of delivery. As your career progresses, you'll also take increasing ownership of your own schemes, mentor junior engineers and continue developing your project management skills.
We're looking for someone with around three or more years' experience in civil infrastructure design who enjoys variety and wants to continue developing technically. Ideally, you'll have experience in some or most of the following:
Highways and drainage design for residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
Civil 3D, PDS, OpenRoads, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage.
Highway and drainage approvals including S38, S278, S104, S106 and associated agreements.
Preparing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies and supporting technical reports.
Liaising with clients, local authorities and statutory undertakers throughout project delivery.
Working towards, or keen to progress towards, IEng or CEng status.
In return, you'll join a business with a healthy pipeline of secured work, an outstanding team culture and genuine opportunities to continue developing both technically and professionally. If you're looking for somewhere you'll be trusted, supported and surrounded by people who enjoy what they do, this is an opportunity well worth exploring.
