Job Description
Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer (HVAC) interested in opportunities on a contract basis, to be located in Preston.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed HVAC system designs, drawings, and specifications.
Review project requirements, regulatory standards, and performance criteria to inform designs.
Perform load calculations, ductwork and pipe sizing, and airflow modelling.
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil teams to ensure system integration.
Support project delivery through design reviews, site inspections, and design modifications as required.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design verification packages.
Qualifications & Skills
Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (HVAC focus) or equivalent.
Proven experience designing HVAC systems.
Strong knowledge of HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Carrier HAP, IES) and standards (CIBSE, BS, ASHRAE).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
