About the Role
As a Design Engineer within our Research & Development team, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and developing injection-moulded products used in critical applications. From initial concept and prototyping to design validation and handover for manufacturing, you'll be involved in the entire product lifecycle.
This is a hands-on design role-not traditional project management-where your expertise in CAD and injection moulding will shape products that make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design & Development:
Create and refine designs using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks or similar).
Develop prototypes using 3D printing and rapid prototyping techniques.
Design for injection moulding, ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
Validation & Compliance:
Support verification and validation activities for new and modified products.
Ensure compliance with ISO13485 and other regulatory standards.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to optimise processes.
Contribute to product and process improvement initiatives.
Participate in risk assessments (FMEA) and root cause analysis.
Global Exposure:
Occasional travel to Asia and the US for supplier visits and collaboration (approx. 3-4 weeks per year).What We're Looking For
Degree in Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience in R&D, ideally within medical devices, pharmaceuticals, FMCG or injection moulding environments.
Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes and design principles.
Proficiency in CAD software.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.Desirable:
Familiarity with ISO13485, Toll Gate design control, and Lean principles.
Experience in regulated environments (medical, pharma, or similar).Why Join Us?
