Candidates suited to this role will have gained a minimum of 5 years experience within a CAD Design role, to be able to produce documention of parts, assemblies and manufacturing drawings.
You will be trained in the use of CAD and CAM software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks and be able to analyze and apply appropriate functional tolerances, including use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Responsibilities include developing detailed designs, technical documentation, and test plans, as well as ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Working closely with operations across three sites, to understand the product requirements, production methods and key transactional processes etc. Coordinate and lead brainstorming, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis exercises to ensure design challenges and field issues are addressed efficiently and effectively.
To develop designs and engineering bills of material based on customer specifications and use of his/her own technical expertise, understanding of the customer needs, and knowledge of the industry.
Strong communication skills are essential and the role will involve liaising with senior engineers in regards to project updates, building relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers.
Candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent within a Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and have a good working knowledge of manufacturing methods, equipment and processes.
Candidates must be proficient in the use of Solidworks including PDM.
