We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our client's dynamic team in Birmingham.

The Role:
As a Design Engineer, your responsibilities will be:
* Delivering detailed design from concept, backed up by appropriate calculations and formulae
* Demonstrating high standards of mechanical engineering using 3D CAD design software (SolidWorks)
* Producing high-quality drawings for suppliers to manufacture parts
* Taking responsibility for equipment/machine designs, BOM’s, development work, enquiries and value engineering activities
* Ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations, legal requirements, and customers' specific Code of Practice
* Making a positive contribution to continuous improvement activities
* Establishing good working relationships with key members of all departments to ensure the success of projects and daily tasks
The Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the Design Engineer role will:
* Have a mechanical engineering qualification and/or previous proven experience in a similar role
* Possess strong knowledge of materials handling, existing core products and sheet metal/SPM design
* Be able to produce layout, assembly and detail drawings from a sketched idea
* Have a full understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
* Have excellent problem-solving skills
* Be a customer-focused team player with a flexible, proactive and methodical approach to tasks
