Design Engineer
Swindon
Full Time – Permanent
Salary is dependent on experience
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Design Engineer to join our client based in Swindon.
You will be responsible for taking projects from initial concept through to fully detailed technical drawings of specialist parts, components, and fittings using CAD. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and close collaboration with manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver designs from concept through to detailed manufacturing drawings.
* Produce accurate 3D CAD models and 2D drawings to industry standards.
* Apply knowledge of materials to optimise performance, durability, and cost.
* Perform stress analysis calculations and use CFD where appropriate.
* Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and production-ready.
* Support prototype builds, testing, and design refinement.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Design Engineer, ideally at a senior level.
* Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of materials and their applications.
* Experience in stress analysis and CFD.
* Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to manage projects from concept through to completion.
* Motorsport experience is an advantage but not essential.
