Job Description
Are you looking to be part of an engineering team that recognises innovative thinking? If so, then the following design engineer role we have in Stowmarket, Suffolk may be perfect for you.
As a design engineer, you will be tasked with all areas of design, including continuous improvement and new product development from the initial idea to completion. Competitive salary depending on experience
The core hours of work are 08:30am to 17:00pm, Monday to Friday, but there is some flexibility & an early finish every 4th Friday.
Duties: -
Production of detailed drawings and technical specifications
Perform relevant calculations including Finite Element Analysis of parts
Design and implement new products
Participate on continuous improvement processes and development
Support and maintain the existing product range
Create and maintain BOM's
Oversee and perform prototype machine testing
Provide technical advice and assistance
Design and create 3D models using Solidworks or similar
Use of the MRP system
Assist with producing technical files and documentation for all directive or legislative
To be considered for this exciting Design Engineer, you will need the following:-
Proficient user of Solidworks or a similar CAD program
Qualification in Mechanical/Design Engineering or similar
Background working with product design and development
Product development & DFM experience required
Experience working within a LEAN manufacturing environment
Ability to handle multiple projects whilst meeting deadlines
Understanding of GD&T
Knowledge of industrial standards
Experience of Microsoft & ERP Packages
Valid Full UK driving license
