Location: Flexible (3 days from home, potential for 4)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
About the Role
We are seeking a talented and motivated Design Lead to join a rapidly growing company in the architectural aluminium and façade sector. Reporting to the Head of Design, you will lead a small team of 3–4 designers, providing mentorship and direction while driving innovative design solutions for high-profile projects valued up to £6m. Projects include Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Windows & Doors, and a smaller proportion of Rainscreen Cladding.
Key Responsibilities
*
Lead, manage, and develop a team of junior and mid-level designers.
*
Oversee design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and innovation.
*
Deliver designs across Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Windows & Doors, and Rainscreen Cladding projects.
*
Collaborate closely with the Head of Design, project managers, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet client and project requirements.
*
Support the implementation of design processes, standards, and best practices.
*
Contribute to the growth and development of the design function as the company continues its rapid expansion.
*
Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and materials relevant to architectural aluminium and façades.
Requirements
*
Proven experience in a design role within the façade, aluminium, or architectural metalwork sector.
*
Experience delivering projects up to £6m, particularly Aluminium Curtain Walling, Glazing, Windows & Doors, and Rainscreen Cladding.
*
Strong leadership and team management skills.
*
Excellent technical knowledge of façade systems, aluminium profiles, and glazing.
*
Proficient in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
*
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
*
