Roofing & Cladding Design Manager

Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
 Location: Wrexham (office-based with site visits as required)

Overview

Our client is a leading specialist in the design, manufacture, and installation of high-performance building envelope systems. They are seeking an experienced Roofing & Cladding Design Manager to lead the design function across multiple façade and roofing projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance, and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the roofing and cladding design team across multiple projects
Oversee the full design lifecycle from concept through to construction and handover
Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and main contractors
Ensure all designs meet relevant UK regulations, standards, and project specifications
Review and approve drawings, calculations, and technical submissions
Manage design programmes in line with project timelines
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior designers
Attend design meetings and represent the design function with clients and stakeholders
Identify and resolve design-related issues proactively
Drive innovation and best practice in façade and roofing systems

Requirements

Proven experience in roofing and cladding design within the construction or façade industry
Strong technical knowledge of building envelope systems, including rainscreen cladding, metal roofing, and waterproofing systems
Experience managing design teams and leading projects
Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
Strong understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Desirable

Degree or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline (e.g., Architectural Technology, Engineering, Construction)
Experience working on large-scale commercial or industrial projects
Knowledge of BIM processes and coordination
