Job Description

Design Manager Hybrid / Site-based in Sligo County, Ireland Occasional travel to other design site in England A leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery is actively seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their in-house Design Department. Their innovative processing and packaging line equipment is used across a wide variety of industries including food & FMCG. The Design Manager is a key member of the Design Department, responsible for leading the development of high-quality, innovative and commercially competitive products. As well as some hands-on mechanical design work, this role will be focused on managing two Design Teams based at their sites in Ireland and England. This will include reviewing and implementing improvements to processes, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and developing internal capabilities and specialisms. You will work closely with Project Engineers and other departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the required quality standards. This is an exciting time to be joining them as they are continuing to expand their core product ranges, integrating technological developments in automation, and the development of bespoke solutions to meet specific customer needs means your work will be interesting and varied. Applications are invited from Design Managers, Team Leaders, as well as Senior Mechanical Design Engineers, Industrial Designers & Product Designers with previous experience of leading a team of designers. Previous experience of working for a manufacturer of products used within the food industry would be beneficial but not essential.
