Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) systems and a solid understanding of Civils interface for a landmark project in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a world-class, multi-million-pound research facility shaping the future of science and healthcare.
Project Overview:

£700m state-of-the-art cancer research and wellness facility

Located in Oxford, adjacent to the Oxford Science Park
*
30,000 sqm across two sites connected via a stunning woodland walkway
*
Designed by world-renowned architect Norman Foster
*
Focused on cutting-edge research in cancer, disease prevention, and global health policy
Role Responsibilities:
*
Lead and coordinate M&E design processes on site
*
Manage interfaces between M&E and civil packages
*
Collaborate with project stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and client representatives
*
Ensure design is developed and delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality standards
*
Identify risks and proactively develop solutions to overcome technical issues
Ideal Candidate:
*
Proven experience in a Design Manager role on large-scale, complex construction projects
*
Strong understanding of M&E systems and civil engineering interfaces
*
Excellent communication and coordination skills
*
Comfortable working within a high-performance team on a fast-paced project
*
Available to work on a freelance or PAYE basis immediately
