Design Manager £50,000 - £60,000 + Progression + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays West Yorkshire - Commutable from Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield, Sheffield, Barnsley A rare and exciting opportunity for a Design Manager with a technical background to step into a brand-new role within a thriving new build contractor, working on high-value care home projects. As this is a newly created position, you'll have the autonomy to shape it and make it your own. Are you a design professional with an Architectural Technologist background? Are you confident reading and interpreting architectural drawings? Are you looking for a role where you can help shape a growing division within a dynamic business? This reputable commercial main contractor delivers new build projects across the UK, typically valued between £8m-£15m. This company is now entering an exciting phase of expansion, now seeking to bring an in-house design professional to bridge the gap between design and delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Design Manager to step into a pivotal role - bringing fresh ideas, driving project quality, and playing a key part in the company's continued success. In this role, you'll oversee the smooth delivery of projects from RIBA Stage 2 to 5. You'll manage external stakeholders, mainly architects, ensuring that all drawings are assessed for buildability. You'll also lead design meetings with construction teams, assist with technical queries, co-ordinate design issue information and conduct quality checks to ensure successful implementation. The ideal candidate will have an Architectural Technologist background and a strong understanding of construction processes. You'll be looking to step into a leadership role, working across complex and exciting new build projects with clear progression opportunities. The Role: * Managing the design process for new build care home projects * Liaising with external architects and consultants. * Reviewing drawings for buildability.
