Design Manager – Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL)
Location: UK-wide Flexible Hybrid Working
Salary: £80,000 - £90,000 pa + package
We’re representing a leading national contractor with an ambitious pipeline of UK airfield projects. They’re seeking a skilled Design Manager to join their in-house design team, driving excellence in the design and delivery of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems across the country.
🌟 About the Role
As the Design Manager, you’ll be instrumental in shaping the future of aviation infrastructure. Your role will involve:
* Leading the full lifecycle of AGL design projects—from concept to completion
* Coordinating with construction, operations, and electrical teams
* Producing and reviewing technical drawings, schematics, and design documentation
* Ensuring alignment with ICAO, EASA, and UK CAA regulations
* Driving innovation in smart and sustainable lighting solutions
* Supporting and mentoring junior designers within the in-house team
🛠 Ideal Candidate Profile
* Extensive experience in AGL or large-scale electrical infrastructure design
* Strong understanding of airfield lighting systems and control equipment
* Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, and BIM workflows
* Effective leader and communicator with stakeholder management skills
* Familiarity with working within contractor environments or consultancy settings
