Design Structures Approver - Airbus Broughton
Location: Broughton (Hybrid - minimum 60% onsite)
Rate: £37.40 PAYE or £50.00 Umbrella
Hours: 35 per week (4.5-day week, flexible between 7am-7pm)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (handled by Airbus Security)
✈️ About the Role
Join the dynamic Wing Plant Engineering Team (PET) at Airbus Broughton as a Design Structures Approver. You'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality design support to the manufacturing plant, ensuring structural integrity and airworthiness across a range of aircraft components.
This is more than just a technical role - it's about leading, mentoring, and driving innovation in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
🔧 What You'll Be Doing
Lead and approve structural design solutions, including major/minor modifications and design query notes.
Act as a Design Approval Signatory, ensuring compliance with airworthiness and safety standards.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers, helping to close skill gaps and build capability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing Engineering, CVE, Chief Engineer, Configuration Management) to deliver integrated design solutions.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and embed lessons learned.🧠 What We're Looking For
Industry-recognised Design Signatory (Design Approval/Authorisation).
Strong background in aircraft structures and modification design.
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to simplify complex problems.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
