GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join a progressive school in Swinton. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who can bring design principles, technical skills, and creative thinking to life in the classroom.
Role Overview:
As a DT Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages in areas such as resistant materials, product design, and graphics. Your role will be central in helping students develop hands-on skills, problem-solving abilities, and design confidence.
Responsibilities as a Design Technology Teacher:
Teach the Design Technology curriculum to a range of student abilities.
Prepare and deliver lessons that promote innovation, safety, and skill-building.
Maintain workshop and classroom safety standards.
Support students with coursework, assessments, and practical projects.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and promote a culture of design.
Requirements for the Design Technology Teacher role:
UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
A relevant degree or specialism in Design Technology or related subject.
Experience teaching DT at school level is desirable.
Strong classroom management and practical teaching skills.
Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety practices in workshops.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps in the last 10 years.
