Job Description

Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in Accrington. This part-time ongoing position is to start ASAP, offering an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact in a thriving educational setting.

This is a fantastic chance to teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a school that values inclusive teaching, professional growth, and a collaborative working culture.

Position Details:

  * Job Title: Design Technology Teacher

  * Location: Accrington, Lancashire

  * Start Date: ASAP

  * Contract Type: Ongoing part-time (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays)

  * Daily Rate: £168 – £215 per day

About the Design Technology Teacher role:

  * Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Design Technology lessons aligned to the National Curriculum

  * Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of abilities

  * Be confident covering across Food Theory, Textiles and Graphics

  * Promote critical thinking, tolerance, and cultural understanding

  * Support student progress through effective assessment and feedback

  * Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

  * Contribute to wider school activities and departmental development

The ideal Design Technology Teacher will:

  * Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  * Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology (KS3 & KS4)

  * Be confident in planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons

  * Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills

  * Be passionate about inspiring young people and promoting values of respect and diversity

  * Be committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing
