Design & Technology Teacher
Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Telford to recruit a Design & Technology Teacher. Responsibilities of the Design & Technology Teacher Role:
• Deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is a bonus)
• Teach areas such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering (depending on specialism)
• Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with the national curriculum
• Inspire students to develop creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical confidence
• Ensure a safe working environment by following workshop health & safety procedures
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and academic achievement
• Uphold all safeguarding and school policies consistently
This Design & Technology Teacher position is ideal for someone who is passionate about practical learning and wants to make a lasting impact in a supportive school environment.
To apply for this Design & Technology Teacher role, you will need:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3 and KS4
• Strong subject knowledge in one or more D&T specialisms
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
• A genuine passion for teaching Design & Technology and developing practical skills
