Design Technology Teacher - Salford Long-Term Role | September - Christmas | Secondary School Design Technology Teacher - Salford Start Date: September 2026 Duration: September to Christmas 2026 Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary Salary: £175-£240 per day, dependent on experience Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic and creative Design Technology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Salford from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys taking students from an initial idea through to a finished product. The school has invested heavily in its practical curriculum and is looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity and high expectations to the department. About the school Our partner school is a popular 11-16 secondary school situated in Salford, with approximately 1,000 students on roll. The school has recently expanded its Design Technology provision and has developed a strong reputation locally for its practical and creative curriculum. The DT department is well equipped, with dedicated workshops, CAD facilities and modern computer-controlled equipment. The school is particularly keen to develop students' understanding of how Design Technology connects with engineering, construction and the wider world of work. Staff describe the school as having a friendly and supportive atmosphere, with a leadership team that gives teachers the freedom to develop engaging lessons while maintaining high expectations. The role You will be joining an established Design Technology department and teaching across KS3 and KS4. The successful teacher will: Plan and deliver engaging Design Technology lessons. Teach practical and theory-based elements of the curriculum. Inspire students to develop their creativity, problem-solving and technical skills. Prepare and deliver lessons appropriate to a range of abilities. Monitor and assess student progress. Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement. Ensure practical activities are carried out safely and effectively. Work positively with colleagues across the department.The school would welcome applications from both experienced DT teachers and ECTs with strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject.
