Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 teaching may be available for the right candidate).
Specialise in areas such as resistant materials, product design, or graphics depending on skillset.
Prepare students for GCSE qualifications, offering focused support and practical guidance.
Develop engaging, project-based learning experiences using modern tools and equipment.
Promote safety and independence in practical lessons.
Collaborate with the DT department and wider staff team to share resources and strategies.
Contribute to extracurricular clubs, STEM activities, or enrichment events.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear, constructive feedback.
Uphold school values and contribute positively to the wider school community.
Experience & Requirements
✅ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) – ECTs and experienced teachers welcome.
✅ Subject knowledge in one or more DT disciplines (e.g. product design, materials, engineering).
✅ Confident using tools, equipment, and technology such as CAD/CAM or 3D printing.
✅ Ability to engage a wide range of learners and support those with varied learning needs.
✅ Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
✅ Passion for design education and a commitment to student development.
✅ A current Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
