About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and dedicated DT Teacher to join our team on a supply basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified and passionate teacher to contribute to the education of students in a variety of secondary schools across the area.
As a Supply DT Teacher, you will be required to deliver high-quality DT lessons to students, ensuring they stay engaged and motivated while maintaining the high standards of teaching. This role offers flexibility, with placements available across different schools for varying durations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Design & Technology to students across key stages, including KS3, GCSE, and A-Level
* Deliver engaging lessons on topics such as product design, engineering, graphic design, resistant materials, and electronics
* Guide students in practical design projects that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving
* Assess students’ progress, providing constructive feedback and ensuring academic success in design technology coursework and exams
* Foster a safe and stimulating classroom environment that promotes hands-on learning and collaboration
* Develop and update lesson plans to ensure they meet the latest curriculum standards and integrate new technological advancements
* Participate in extracurricular activities such as design challenges, workshops, and student exhibitions
Requirements:
* Degree in Design & Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary school level (GCSE and/or A-Level)
* Excellent practical knowledge of design software (e.g., CAD, Adobe Suite) and manufacturing processes
* Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
* Passion for creativity, innovation, and inspiring students to pursue careers in design, engineering, and technology
