About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Birmingham. This is a full-time, long-term position with strong potential to become permanent from September 2025.
The successful candidate will inspire students in areas such as product design, resistant materials, or graphics, fostering creativity, technical understanding, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging and practical Design Technology lessons to secondary students
* Adapt teaching strategies to suit varying learning styles and abilities
* Maintain a safe and well-organised workshop environment
* Encourage innovation, independence, and design thinking
* Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and support student outcomes
* Assess student work in line with school policy and provide constructive feedback
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
* Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a workshop setting
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)Before You Apply
