Are you a practical and proactive individual with a passion for supporting creative learning? We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Design Technology Technician to join our dynamic team at a well-established secondary school in Sheffield.
About the Role:
As a Design Technology Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the DT department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment for students. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone with a strong background in workshop tools, machinery, and health & safety standards in a school or educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to teachers during practical DT lessons.
Maintain, service, and safely store equipment and materials.
Assist with the preparation of materials for student projects.
Ensure all machinery and tools are compliant with health and safety regulations.
Support with stock control and ordering of supplies.
About You:
Previous experience as a Design Technology Technician or similar role is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of materials, tools, and workshop equipment.
Health & Safety awareness essential.
Excellent organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Relevant qualification or training in Design Technology or Engineering would be advantageous.
