About the Role
Veritas Education are working in partnership with a secondary school in Kirklees to recruit a Design Technology Technician. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, organised, and practical individual to support the Design & Technology department and contribute to the learning experience of students.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing, setting up, and maintaining tools, machinery, and materials for practical lessons across Product Design, Resistant Materials, Textiles, Graphics, and Food Technology.
Assisting teaching staff during lessons by supporting students with equipment and resources.
Ensuring all machinery and tools are safely maintained and compliant with health & safety regulations.
Ordering and managing stock, keeping accurate records of materials and equipment.
Supporting the development of innovative projects and displays within the department.
Promoting a safe, creative, and engaging workshop environment.The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience as a DT Technician or similar workshop/technical background is desirable.
A practical, hands-on approach with good problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of health & safety practices within a workshop environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to support both staff and students.Why Join?
