Job Description

Production Chemist Salary: DOE + Benefits Hours: Mon-Fri ( Days) Site-Based Role Are you an experienced chemist with a strong background in organic chemistry and process development? Do you enjoy working across both laboratory and pilot-scale environments, supporting production and driving technical improvements? If so, this could be an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your career. A growing chemical manufacturing organisation is seeking a Production Chemist to support process development, scale-up activities, and production challenges. This is a hands-on role offering exposure to both R&D and manufacturing, with the opportunity to make a real impact on operational performance. Key Responsibilities: Carrying out small-scale synthesis, reactions, and distillations (up to ~20L scale). Supporting and operating larger-scale distillation processes (up to ~100L scale). Applying a range of laboratory techniques including separations, crystallisation, and purification methods. Assisting with troubleshooting and resolving process-related issues across manufacturing. Performing and interpreting analysis using techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, Karl Fischer and titrations. Handling hazardous chemicals safely in various quantities. What You’ll Need: BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemistry (with a strong focus on Organic Chemistry). 3–5 years’ industrial experience, ideally within pilot plant or larger-scale chemical environments. Strong practical knowledge of laboratory and process chemistry techniques. Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC, GC, FTIR, KF, titrations). Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices within a chemical setting.
