We're working with a major UK-based energy programme that's spearheading the future of nuclear fusion. As part of this groundbreaking initiative, we're searching for a Development Consent Order (DCO) Manager to join the programme team based in Nottinghamshire.
This role offers a unique opportunity to drive forward a nationally significant infrastructure development with lasting impact on the UK's net-zero goals.
🌍 Key Responsibilities:
DCO Application Management
* Lead the preparation and submission of Development Consent Order applications.
* Coordinate with legal, technical, and environmental teams to ensure timely and compliant document delivery.
Monitoring, Reporting & Governance
* Collaborate with the DCO Lead to monitor progress against the activity plan.
* Develop robust recovery plans when deviations occur.
* Prepare and deliver clear reporting for stakeholders at all levels, including Executive-level briefings.
Interface Management
* Serve as the key link between design, project planning, business development, communications, and external stakeholders.
* Maintain and manage interface and interdependency logs.
* Collaborate with supplier contract managers to ensure alignment with consultation timelines and DCO requirements.
Public Consultation & Stakeholder Engagement
* Design and implement consultation strategies in collaboration with advisors and communications teams.
* Handle stakeholder feedback, ensuring issues are addressed and documented.
* Ensure compliance with evolving legal and regulatory frameworks.
Planning Support (TCPA)
* Support wider Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) activities outside the core DCO.
* Coordinate with agents and partner organisations as needed.
✅ What We're Looking For:
* 10+ years' experience in DCO or NSIP projects, ideally involving complex technical and stakeholder environments.
* Proven ability to manage interfaces across internal and external disciplines.
* Experience in consultation strategy, planning applications, and local planning authority engagement.
* Exceptional organisational, communication, and coordination skills.
* A university degree in a STEM discipline.
