Position Development Control Engineer – Facilities & Environment Location 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW Start Date ASAP Contract Duration Permanent Working Hours To be discussed at interview Pay Rate £42,771 per annum Job Reference OR(phone number removed) Job Responsibilities Support the delivery of development control and environmental functions within the Environment service. Assess and manage development-related matters in line with relevant policies, procedures and legislation. Provide professional technical advice on development control and environmental issues. Work with internal teams, external organisations and other stakeholders to support effective service delivery. Prepare clear reports, recommendations and technical information as required. Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed within agreed timescales. Contribute to the continuous improvement of development control and environmental services. Person Specification Must-Have Requirements Relevant professional or technical experience in development control, planning, engineering, facilities or an environmental discipline. Good understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to assess information, identify issues and provide practical solutions. Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders and external organisations. Nice-to-Have Requirements Previous experience working within a local authority or public-sector environment. Relevant professional qualification or membership of a recognised professional body. Experience of working on development control or environmental matters within a local government setting. Knowledge of the London planning and development environment
