What will I be doing?
You’ll work as part of the Mechanical Ventilation R&D team in Haverhill (Suffolk), focusing on the design, development, and validation of new and improved ventilation products. The role spans the full product lifecycle – from requirements and concept through to prototype testing, compliance, and release.
Key responsibilities:
Track UK mechanical ventilation trends and analyse competitor products.
Deliver development projects covering requirements, specifications, concepts, design, test, and validation.
Produce detailed engineering designs and documentation using Autodesk Inventor.
Ensure projects meet time, cost, and quality targets.
Maintain and contribute to product technical files to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Coordinate with suppliers, consultants, and internal R&D functions (test, electrical/software) to achieve project objectives.
Support design reviews, DfMA activities, and lessons-learned sessions.
Apply rapid prototyping and testing methods to validate new concepts.
Support engineering change control, quality improvement, and internal process development.
Ensure Health & Safety requirements are fulfilled at all times.
We’re looking for:
Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 2 years’ R&D experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
Proficient CAD user (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
Experience with PLM systems and engineering change management.
Understanding of analytical and numerical modelling (FEA, CFD).
Familiarity with mechanical ventilation or fan-based products.
Experience with rapid prototyping techniques.
Strong decision-making and task ownership in project delivery.
