Job Description
Development Engineer
To build and functionally develop feed systems and special purpose machinery within agreed timeframes to design specification.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Mechanically assemble machinery to general arrangement drawings.
* Install and plumb pneumatic elements of machinery.
* Support electrical engineers with fitting of cable tray, feeding cables etc, where required.
* To work to communicated timeframes against project milestones.
* Participate in design reviews when requested to feedback thoughts and concerns to design prior to build.
* Take machines beyond the point of power on, through initial running and develop them into a fully functioning piece of production equipment in line with works order requirements.
* Suggest any potential modifications to machine construction to improve/achieve required performance.
* Detail any part modifications undertaken to feed back into the design change process.
* Attend customer site for installation, commissioning and/or service visits when required.
* To adhere to the Quality Management System and associated policies, processes and procedures.
Skills
* Comfortable with and confident in the use of hand and power tools.
* The ability to build industrial machinery to engineering drawings.
* The ability to develop industrial machinery from power on to final test.
* The ability to read engineering drawings, general arrangement drawings and pneumatic schematics, and to build to these drawings.
* An awareness of common electrical componentry used on industrial machinery, as well as its functionality.
* Knowledge of the Automation sector.
