Development Manager – Leading Housing Developer (Cornwall) 📍 Location: Cornwall (with travel across the region) 💼 Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Excellent Benefits 🕒 Type: Full-time | Permanent (phone number removed) This wonderful role is a flexible position and home working is supported, however there will be a need for office presence at times, but when you are based in beautiful Cornwall, it’s not such a bad thing….. Due to our continued growth and ambitious development targets, we are seeking a talented and driven Development Manager to join our Pre-Construction team. In this role, you will work alongside the Pre-Construction Director and Senior Development Manager to help implement our residential development programme in line with our New Homes & Land Strategy and business plan goals for turnover, profitability, and delivery. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to the successful delivery of residential development programmes. Assist in implementing strategies that meet business plan timelines and expectations. Support land acquisition, planning applications, and project feasibility assessments. Liaise with internal teams and external partners to drive forward complex development projects. Ensure compliance with central and local government housing strategies and planning policies. Take ownership of delivering planning consents, legal processes, and development milestones. What We’re Looking For: Education & Qualifications HND or Level 5 or 6 qualification in construction, development, or planning-related discipline   Knowledge & Experience End-to-end knowledge of the housebuilding development process Proven success in securing residential planning consents Strong understanding of legal aspects of land acquisition and planning Experience working within local/national housing policy frameworks Detailed understanding of residential development lifecycle Regional knowledge and professional network in Devon & Cornwall   Skills & Attributes Commercial awareness and strong financial judgement Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills High emotional intelligence and leadership presence Proactive, results-driven, and highly organized Effective in managing risk, programmes, deadlines, and stakeholder engagement A collaborative team player with entrepreneurial spirit Competent in IT and project management tools Willingness and ability to travel across the region as required   What We Offer: 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays) Cycle to Work Scheme On-site Parking Many more attractive employee benefits   Ready to shape the future of housing in Cornwall?
