Development Planner
Location: Edinburgh
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be working with a well-established and respected independent consultancy to recruit a Development Planner for their growing team in Edinburgh.
Operating across planning, environmental consultancy, and engineering disciplines, this organisation delivers high-quality and sustainable development projects throughout Scotland and the UK. Due to a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to team growth, they are looking for a planning professional to support and lead on a range of projects across sectors including housing, infrastructure, energy, and regeneration.
The Role:
As a Development Planner, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting planning applications, delivering site appraisals, conducting research and analysis, preparing supporting planning documents, and liaising with clients, stakeholders and local authorities. You'll play an important role in shaping development outcomes and contributing to project success from initial strategy through to determination.
What we're looking for:
A degree (or postgrad) in Town Planning or a related subject
MRTPI qualified or working towards chartership
Solid understanding of Scottish planning legislation and policy
Excellent communication, report writing and organisational skills
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
Experience in consultancy or a relevant planning environment is desirable
