DevOps Cloud Engineer – Azure
📍 Milton Keynes (Hybrid – 60% onsite)
💰 PAYE Rate: £431.18 per day / Umbrella Rate: £552.82 per day
📅 6 Month Contract (Potential Extension)
🔒 SC Clearance Eligible Required
We’re working with a high-profile government-aligned organisation delivering critical digital, technology, and cyber security programmes. They are seeking an experienced DevOps Cloud Engineer to join a major cloud transformation initiative.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in building secure, scalable cloud platforms within a highly regulated environment.
The Role
You’ll sit within a cloud-focused delivery team, contributing to the design, build, and optimisation of Azure-based infrastructure and services. The role blends hands-on engineering with DevOps best practice, security integration, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
  * Design, build and optimise Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
  * Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
  * Integrate security practices into the SDLC, including automated testing and compliance
  * Support cloud migration activities and landing zone implementation
  * Monitor environments, respond to incidents, and drive remediation
  * Collaborate across distributed teams and contribute to agile ceremonies
  * Provide technical guidance and support to engineering teams
Key Skills & Experience
Essential:
  * Strong experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Repos, and CI/CD pipelines
  * Solid hands-on experience with Terraform (IaC)
  * Experience implementing Azure Landing Zones / Cloud Adoption Framework
  * Knowledge of Checkov or similar security scanning tools
  * Experience with cloud migrations (Azure Migrate preferred)
  * Strong scripting skills (PowerShell)
  * Experience working with cloud-native tooling
  * Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
  * Exposure to AWS
  * Experience with on-prem to cloud transformations
  * Background in secure / regulated environments
Certifications (Desirable)
  * AZ-400 (DevOps Engineer Expert)
  * AZ-104 (Azure Administrator)
  * AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals)
Location & Working Pattern
  * Hybrid role – 60% onsite in Milton Keynes (Hanslope Park)
  * Occasional travel to London or nearby sites
Security Requirements
  * Must be a British national (or dual national)
  * Eligible for SC Clearance (can be processed if not currently held)
