Diabetes Nurse Specialist (DNS)

Location: Jersey

Contract Details

  * £40.00 per hour (Negotiable) On Umbrella Company

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Diabetes Nurse Specialist (DNS) to join a dedicated healthcare team in Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled diabetes specialist to provide high-quality care and support to patients with Type 1, Type 2, gestational, and complex diabetes needs within community and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

  * Deliver specialist diabetes nursing care and clinical assessments.

  * Provide education and support to patients, families, and carers regarding diabetes management.

  * Initiate, review, and adjust diabetes treatment plans in line with clinical guidelines.

  * Support patients using insulin therapies, insulin pumps, and continuous glucose monitoring systems.

  * Promote self-management and healthy lifestyle interventions.

  * Work collaboratively with consultants, GPs, dietitians, podiatrists, and other healthcare professionals.

Essential Requirements

  * Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration.

  * Significant experience working as a Diabetes Nurse Specialist.

  * Experience managing patients with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes.

  * Strong knowledge of insulin management and diabetes technologies.

Desirable Requirements

  * Independent Prescriber qualification.

  * Experience within community diabetes services.

  * Experience using insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring systems.

  * Relevant diabetes-related postgraduate qualification.
