About the Role
An established private hospital in Essex is looking to recruit a Dietitian to join their multidisciplinary team. This is a full-time role, offering an exciting opportunity to support patients in crisis with mental health issues, including psychosis, mood disorders, personality disorders, anxiety, and trauma. The hospital provides person-centred care through a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals, including consultant psychiatrists, specialty doctors, nurses, and therapists.
As a Dietitian, you will play a vital role in the recovery of patients by assisting with nutritional assessments and the development of personalized meal plans. You will collaborate with the team to manage eating disorders and support the mental and physical wellbeing of patients, ensuring they receive holistic care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with eating disorders to identify deficiencies and dietary challenges.
Develop and implement individualized meal plans that support recovery, addressing both medical and psychological needs.
Provide education and counseling to patients and families on balanced nutrition, healthy eating behaviors, and relapse prevention.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and medical staff to create integrated treatment plans.
Monitor patient progress and adjust nutritional interventions as necessary, managing complications related to eating disorders.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
Proven experience in clinical or specialized settings, preferably working with patients suffering from eating disorders.
Strong background in nutritional assessment, meal planning, and counseling tailored to complex psychological and medical needs.
Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, including mental health professionals, to provide holistic care.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and support patients through their recovery journey.
A commitment to staying current with the latest research and evidence-based practices in nutrition and eating disorder management.
