Job Description

Digital Volunteer Engagement Officer Leith, Edinburgh / Hybrid, will consider remote working £25,500 per annum, pro rata Permanent, Part time - 17.5 hours per week About us: For 60 years, the Scottish Wildlife Trust has worked with its members, partners and supporters in pursuit of its vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland’s land and seas. The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. It also manages a network of over 100 wildlife reserves across Scotland and is a member of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement. The Role: We are looking for an organised and motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for volunteering, who will provide support for the Scottish Wildlife Trust’s ~600 volunteers through a variety of digital tools and platforms. Working as part of the Trust’s Engagement team, you will play a key role in ensuring volunteering with the Scottish Wildlife Trust is a positive and rewarding experience that meets the needs of both the volunteer and the organisation. In addition to creating engaging digital resources and communications for volunteers, you will lead on maintaining the Trust’s online Volunteer Management System, supporting the volunteers and staff who use it. This highly flexible role can be conducted remotely, although some travel to Scottish Wildlife Trust headquarters in Leith may be required. Main objectives 1. Develop a range of digital communications that enhance the volunteering experience and help progress volunteers along a journey of engagement. 2. Produce and maintain online volunteer training and support through the Trust’s e-learning platform. 3. Produce engaging volunteer communications such as e-newsletters, blogs and social media content. 4. Maintain the Trust’s Volunteer Management System to ensure it meets the needs of both volunteers and volunteer managers. 5. Provide support for volunteers and volunteer managers who use the Trust’s volunteer management system. 6. Promote and further develop a volunteering culture for the Trust.
