Good Afternoon,
I am currently representing Westminster Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience
We are looking for a Director of Corporate Property this role will be: SW1E6QP Hybrid
The right candidate will:
As Interim Director of Corporate Property, you will lead the strategic management of Westminster’s extensive property portfolio, ensuring alignment with the council’s Fairer Westminster vision. You’ll oversee capital programmes, asset optimisation, sustainability initiatives, and commercial investments, while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
* Lead the development and implementation of corporate property strategies, including carbon reduction and estate optimisation.
* Oversee a property portfolio with a total budget of approx. £217m, including £44m commercial income and £31m non-pay costs.
* Advise senior officers and elected members on all property matters, including legislative changes and best practice.
* Drive commercial opportunities and investment planning to maximise returns and diversify the estate.
* Ensure statutory compliance, health and safety, and accessibility across all council properties.
* Lead the Corporate Health & Safety team and ensure robust systems are in place.
* Deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose accommodation for council services.
We require the following:
* Proven experience leading property functions in large, complex organisations.
* Expertise in building services, FM, estates, or construction.
* Ability to manage large budgets and deliver transformation programmes.
