Director of Cost Consultancy - Central London
An independent property and construction consultancy in Central London is seeking an experienced Director of Cost Consultancy to lead and develop their cost management offering. Working across a broad mix of sectors, the business provides comprehensive pre- and post-contract services to a diverse client base, creating an excellent platform for a commercially minded Director of Cost Consultancy to influence both project delivery and business development.
The successful Director of Cost Consultancy will take a senior role across key commissions, overseeing cost planning, procurement, tendering and post-contract commercial management. Alongside technical delivery, the Director of Cost Consultancy will act as a trusted adviser to clients, maintaining long-term relationships and ensuring consistently high standards of service across multiple projects.
This position is well suited to an established Director of Cost Consultancy who combines strong professional Quantity Surveying expertise with leadership and business development capability. The role will offer significant autonomy, with the opportunity to strengthen client relationships, win new work and support the continued development of the wider Cost Consultancy team.
Director of Cost Consultancy - Key Responsibilities:
Leading major pre- and post-contract cost management commissions
Overseeing cost plans, estimates, procurement strategies and tender processes
Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
Providing strategic commercial advice to clients throughout the project lifecycle
Maintaining and developing relationships with key clients and industry contacts
Identifying new business opportunities and supporting fee proposals
Managing, mentoring and developing Quantity Surveyors within the team
Ensuring strong commercial performance and consistent service delivery
Director of Cost Consultancy - Candidate Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline
MRICS qualified with substantial UK consultancy experience
Strong background delivering professional pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services
Proven experience managing significant client accounts and complex commissions
Demonstrable business development and work-winning ability
Excellent knowledge of JCT contracts, procurement routes and commercial management
Strong leadership, communication and strategic decision-making skills
In Return:
£110,000 - £130,000 per annum
