Job Description

Starting in September, with induction/handover day in June 2026

We are seeking an outstanding Director of Sport to lead and develop sport and physical education across a prestigious private school. This is a rare opportunity to build on an already strong sporting culture, including national success and to inspire participation and excellence across all sports.

The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for sport, an excellent leader of people, and a high-quality classroom practitioner. The role includes teaching PE, with experience of teaching A Level PE essential.

The Role

Lead the strategic development of sport and PE across the school
Inspire high levels of participation and elite performance
Line manage PE staff and coaches
Oversee the PE curriculum (including GCSE and A Level)
Promote inclusion, wellbeing and enjoyment of sport
Develop links with feeder schools and the wider sporting community 

The Person

Proven leadership in school sport or equivalent
Experience teaching A Level Physical Education (essential)
Strong communicator and motivator
Commitment to girls' sport and student wellbeing
Willing to support fixtures, tours and school events
