Director of Planning - London
We are working with a successful and ambitious planning consultancy who are looking to appoint a Director of Planning to lead and grow their London office. This is a senior-level opportunity for a highly motivated planner to take on a leadership role, delivering high-quality projects while helping to shape the future direction of the business.
The Role
As Director of Planning, you will:
Lead on the delivery of major planning projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors.
Provide strategic planning advice to clients, developers, and landowners.
Take responsibility for managing and growing client relationships.
Oversee a team of planners, supporting their professional development and fostering a collaborative culture.
Play a key role in business development, identifying new opportunities and contributing to the company's growth strategy.
Represent the business at public inquiries, hearings, and stakeholder meetings as required.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
RTPI-accredited qualifications and full Chartered Membership (MRTPI).
Significant experience in town planning, ideally with a background in consultancy.
A proven track record of delivering complex planning applications and securing consents.
Strong leadership and management skills, with experience of mentoring teams.
Excellent client-facing and business development skills.
The drive and ambition to contribute to the growth of a forward-thinking consultancy.
