Key Responsibilities of a Disability Support Assistant: Provide one-to-one and group support tailored to individual learning and care needs. Assist in the delivery of vocational and life skills programmes. Promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and external professionals. Support students during community-based learning and work placements. Monitor progress and adapt support strategies to meet evolving needs. Candidate Requirements for Disability Support Assistant: Experience supporting individuals with disabilities or additional needs is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to support. A valid UK driving license and willingness to drive as part of the role. Relevant qualifications in health and social care or SEN support are advantageous but not essential. To work with GSL Education, you must: Have the right to work in the UK. Provide an up-to-date CV with two references from the last two years. Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for one. Demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding and child/vulnerable adult protection. Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
