Job Description
Disrepair Surveyor – Kent / Local Authority Client
£30 paye / £40 per hour Umbrella per hour LTD / Umbrella (Inside IR35)
37 hours per week
6-month ongoing contract
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Disrepair Surveyor to join a busy Housing Repairs team for a Local Authority in the Kent area. This role will be responsible for progressing disrepair cases from claim to completion, ensuring works are specified, managed, and delivered to a high standard across the housing stock.
Responsibilities:
Undertake inspections of occupied and void properties to identify and diagnose disrepair and complex repair issues.
Prepare detailed specifications using SOR codes and raise works orders for operatives and contractors.
Liaise with the Legal team on Section 11 and Environmental Protection Act claims, acting as expert witness when required.
Oversee contractors, carrying out pre- and post-inspections to ensure works meet required standards.
Identify structural defects and report findings to the Asset Team.
Provide technical support to Repairs, Voids, and Compliance teams.
Ensure all work complies with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and relevant legislation.
Maintain accurate records and uphold excellent standards of customer service.Requirements:
Degree or equivalent qualification in a building-related discipline.
Extensive experience managing disrepair claims within a housing or local authority environment.
Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, HHSRS, and landlord statutory obligations.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
