Job Description
I am working with an organisation who have an exciting opportunity available in the form of a Disrepair Surveyor covering the South West area. Damp and Mould experience is essential; however the main focus of this role is to complete disrepair surveys and identify building defects
Role: Disrepair Surveyor
Location: South West
Salary: £43,000 - £49,266
They are looking for a Surveyor who is willing to cover the areas of:
Hampshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Devon & Cornwall
Responsibilities of the Disrepair Surveyor:
As a surveyor you will be used to completing property inspections and that the crux of this role. The main focus of this role is to complete disrepair surveys, identifying building defects, and completing any further investigations to accurately diagnose and rectify any faults.
This will involve specifying works for the DLO as well as managing contractors to ensure all works are completed to a high standard and in good time.
You will need to produce high quality condition reports of each property that the solicitors can rely on in court and be willing to appear in court as a witness if required.
This role will also involve supporting a team of Response Surveyors by completing comprehensive damp investigations in problematic properties, providing advice and training to other members of the team and handling complaints.
An expertise in building pathology and experience in damp investigations will be a big asset in this role as would excellent customer care skills to help manage these difficult cases.
you won't be alone; you'll be working with two other Disrepair Surveyors and between you will complete surveys across the group.

Qualifications and experience needed for the Disrepair Surveyor role:
HNC or higher
Strong working knowledge of Disrepair legislation, the Landlord Tenancy Act 1985
HHSRS
