Job Description
Distribution Service Engineers – BESS, EV Charging & PV Projects - UK Wide - £Excellent Hourly Rate + Expenses - 12 Month Contract + Extensions - ASAP Start Date - Monday to Friday - Outside IR35
As a Distribution Service Engineer, you will be the on-the-ground technical expert responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining low- and medium-voltage distribution systems for Sungrow’s BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and solar projects across the UK.
Responsibilities:

Install, commission, and service LV/MV distribution systems, switchgear, and protection devices
*
Carry out diagnostics and fault-finding on transformers, circuit breakers, and associated equipment
*
Support system upgrades, modifications, and retrofits
*
Conduct site inspections and create detailed service reports
*
Liaise with project managers, electrical engineers, and client representatives
*
Ensure work complies with HSE and local electrical regulations
Requirements:
*
Electrical engineering background (HNC/HND or equivalent)
*
Strong hands-on experience with distribution switchgear and protection systems
*
Familiarity with HV/LV systems, ideally within renewable energy or grid infrastructure
*
Valid ECS/CSCS card
*
Knowledge of Sungrow or comparable inverter/BESS technology is a plus
*
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
