Job Description
We’re partnering with a well established and internationally operating company to recruit a Distribution Specialist for their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a logistics professional to take on a varied and rewarding role within a busy, fast-paced distribution environment. The successful candidate will play a key part in coordinating global shipments, ensuring the highest standards of service, accuracy and compliance are maintained throughout the distribution process.
As a Distribution Specialist, you will take ownership of day-to-day shipping operations, ensuring that all inbound and outbound deliveries are processed efficiently and in accordance with international shipping regulations. You’ll liaise regularly with freight forwarders, couriers and internal departments to manage documentation, resolve queries, and support the smooth movement of goods. This role also involves mentoring a small team of administrators, managing workloads and leave, and acting as the first point of escalation for issues relating to freight, customs, or shipping delays.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need proven experience in international distribution, with a good understanding of customs procedures, tariff/commodity codes, and freight terms. Strong organisational and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure. Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is also required.
