Berry Recruitment is offering a fantastic opportunity for a District Estates Maintenance Manager (G11 - Housing) to join our client team at Southampton City Council. This is an initial 3-month contract with the potential for full-time employment for the right candidate. The Role: Southampton City Council is seeking a highly motivated District Estates Maintenance Manager to work within the Housing Operations and Voids Services Team. We are looking for strong leaders to support the delivery of multiple projects across the district. These include, but are not limited to: Managing contractors carrying out void repair works Overseeing and making safe regeneration properties You will manage all aspects of the maintenance operations team, including staff, contractors, suppliers, and administrative support, in line with council policies and procedures. Your goal will be to help achieve the aims and objectives of the service. The role involves close collaboration with the Housing Investment Team, Housing Management Team, and Tenant Representatives to identify and deliver cost-effective solutions for improving the condition of the Council's housing stock. Additionally, you will support new areas of business and uphold quality standards within commercial workstreams. Key Details: Location: Southampton only Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:30am - 4:15pm; Friday, 7:30am - 3:15pm Employment: PAYE direct with Berry Recruitment (including holiday pay) Equipment: Van, tools, uniform, and PPE provided Team: Part of the Housing Operations team, liaising with residents and colleagues What We're Looking For: HNC / HND or equivalent qualification, or significant relevant experience Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and ideally working towards IOSH Level 3 A relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIOH, RICS, CIOB) is desirable, along with evidence of continued professional development Senior management experience delivering effective contract and commercial services Experience managing a geographically dispersed and diverse workforce A full UK driving licence Confident, self-motivated, and customer-focused A strong understanding of the construction industry Interested?
