Job Description

Document Controller Leicester £35,000 to £45,000 My client is a well know construction company that specialises in facades and cladding and remedial works they operate throughout the UK however this role would be working from the Leicester office. Due to substantial growth, they are currently looking to recruit a Document Controller to assist their team on a permanent basis both in the office and on site. Duties include: * Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Regulator’s (BSR) documentation processes * Develop a comprehensive understanding of the BSR requirements in order to support site managers and to avoid process non-conformities * Provide document control support for various document repository systems * Work with the Design Manager to ensure drawing version control and to provide support for O&M documentation * Support the Design Manager with document control activities on projects that do not require BSR approval * Support the Quality Manager through the documentation of quality related component installation imagery * Provide project mapping support using MS Project (training on this software is available) The BSR documentation process, as a principal contractor, for Gateway 2 & 3 under the Building Safety Act, we will need a comprehensive suite of documents demonstrating our ability to manage the construction process safely and efficiently, particularly for higher-risk buildings. This includes demonstrating competence, outlining control plans, and reporting mechanisms and the following documents will have input from others. Key documents include: 1. Competence Declaration: * This document outlines (SKEB) skills, knowledge, experience and behaviour, and the capability to deliver the project, as well as the competence of those involved. * It demonstrates that you have the right people and resources to manage the construction safely, effectively to the latest building regulations. 2. Construction Control Plan: * This document outlines how we will manage the construction process, including the use of subcontractors, monitoring progress, and ensuring that work complies with Building Regulations and safety requirements. * It's essentially your plan for how you'll control the construction process and ensure it meets all requirements. 3. Change Control Plan: * This document outlines the process for managing changes to the design or construction work, ensuring that changes are properly documented, approved, and implemented in a way that doesn't compromise safety or compliance. * It's crucial for maintaining a "golden thread" of information and ensuring that changes are controlled and documented. 4. Mandatory Occurrence Reporting System: * This document outlines how you will report any incidents, occurrences, or near misses that could potentially compromise safety or raise concerns about the building's safety. * It's a system for proactively reporting issues and ensuring that lessons are learned and implemented to prevent future problems. 5. Building Regulations Compliance Statement: * This statement outlines how your project will comply with the relevant Building Regulations, providing details on how you will meet the specific requirements. * It demonstrates that you are aware of the regulations and have a plan for complying with them. 6. Fire and Emergency File: * This document outlines how you will manage fire and emergency risks during construction and operation of the building, including evacuation procedures, fire safety systems, and emergency response plans. * It's essential for demonstrating that you have a comprehensive plan for managing fire safety and emergency situations. 7. Golden Thread * The "golden thread of information" in the context of the Building Safety Act refers to a comprehensive, digital record of a building's design, construction, and maintenance throughout its lifecycle. It's a continuous thread of building information that ensures the safety of the building and its occupants This role can offer hybrid working and progression.
