Domestic Abuse Link Worker | Charnwood | Full Time | £13.12 per hour
Our client is a registered charity and a specialist women and girls’ organisation dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. They are looking for a compassionate and committed Domestic Abuse Link Worker to join their Lotus support services team, providing practical and emotional support to adult survivors across the Borough of Charnwood.
This role will be co-located at Charnwood Borough Council and the Loughborough office, and focuses on assisting survivors with housing-related issues arising from domestic abuse.
Are you the right person for the job?
Understanding of domestic abuse and sexual violence, including its impact on individuals and children
Minimum of three years’ experience in a paid or voluntary support and information role
Empathy and sensitivity towards people who have experienced abuse
Competent in using IT systems, email, and internet tools
Ability to produce clear reports, case notes, and correspondence with good grammar and attention to detail
Knowledge of the importance of timely, accurate record keeping and data management
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
Flexible and methodical approach to tasks
Ability to make appropriate decisions within the boundaries of organisational policies and line management guidance
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
Experience building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Commitment to promoting equality and inclusion
What will your role look like?
Providing outreach support and information to survivors, helping them make informed decisions on:
Safety planning
Housing options and refuge access
Legal rights and professional legal support
Welfare benefits
Education and leisure opportunities
Supporting clients to resolve housing issues and resettle safely
Acting as an advocate on issues such as benefits, maintenance, and legal matters
Providing emotional support and assisting with necessary documentation
Referring clients to specialist agencies as needed
Maintaining accurate client records, risk assessments, and Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
Raising awareness of domestic abuse and sexual violence through talks, training, and campaigns
Attending meetings, conferences, and forums on behalf of LWA
Staying up to date with legislation, best practices, and sector developments
Participating in internal and external training to enhance skills
Following all LWA policies and procedures to ensure high-quality service delivery
