Help create safer futures — without asking women to leave theirs.
Our client, a Merseyside-based domestic violence charity is looking for a passionate Domestic Violence Practitioner to join their bold, innovative and survivor-led programme which focuses on enabling the client to remain safety in their home.
This service is unique in that challenges the idea that women and children should have to leave their homes, communities and support networks to be safe.
Instead, it works alongside survivors to increase choice, autonomy and safety — where they live.
You could make a real difference.
As a Domestic Violence Practitioner, you’ll build trusted relationships with survivors experiencing domestic abuse, helping them understand their options, strengthen their safety and make decisions about their own futures.
You’ll:
Provide specialist, survivor-led domestic abuse support.
Assess risk and develop practical, personalised safety plans.
Advocate for survivors and help them navigate services and systems.
Support women to build confidence, choice and control.
Work with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours, where appropriate, recognising the important role they can play in increasing safety and disrupting abuse.
Work alongside partner agencies to manage risk and improve outcomes.
Keep accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and multi-agency work. We’re looking for someone who...
Has experience of working with survivors of domestic abuse and understands coercive control, risk, safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.
You’ll be a great listener, confident advocate and someone who can stay calm when things get complicated. You’ll be organised, resilient and able to build relationships based on trust and respect.
Most importantly, you’ll believe that survivors are the experts in their own lives.
You won’t tell someone what they should do, but you’ll help them explore what’s possible.
Why work for this service?
You will be working for an organisation who truly believe that every survivor deserves choice, dignity and the opportunity to build a safer future. You will be working alongside passionate Advocates to support clients to become safer, more connected and more in control where they are.
Could this be you?
If you have the skills, experience and values to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
