Domestic Abuse Refuge Manager
Location: Coventry (with travel across Leicester and Leicestershire)
Salary: c. £30,800 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm)
Annual Leave: 28 days plus excellent benefits
A long-established women's organisation, with over 45 years of dedicated service, is seeking a committed and experienced Refuge Manager to lead one of its specialist domestic abuse services. This is a vital role supporting women and children from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BME) backgrounds, many of whom are navigating the complex impacts of forced marriage, honour-based violence, and abuse.
This organisation provides emergency and temporary accommodation alongside community outreach and legal support. The successful candidate will oversee a small team of part-time and full-time staff and will play a key role in ensuring the safety, dignity, and empowerment of service users.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day operations across refuge sites.
Supervise and support a team of frontline staff.
Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and quality assurance.
Coordinate tailored support plans and ensure culturally sensitive service delivery.
Consult with external agencies, including legal, housing, and health services.
Participate in senior on-call rota and occasional weekend events.
Contribute to strategic development and service improvement.Essential Criteria:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a care or social welfare setting
At least 2 years' experience working with BME communities affected by forced marriage and honour-based abuse.
Proven experience in advice and information work
Understanding of cultural contexts within Black, Asian and Minority communities
Managerial qualification and senior on-call experience
Fluency in at least one BME language
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Flexibility to travel across Coventry, Leicester, and LeicestershireWhat We Offer:
