Domestic Gas Engineer
📍 Edinburgh | Permanent | Full-Time | Up to £40k
About the Role
Our client, a leading Facilities Management provider, is seeking an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer to join their team covering Edinburgh and the central belt. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of social housing contracts, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of domestic heating systems and appliances.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on domestic gas appliances, including boilers, heating systems, and hot water installations.
*
Respond to reactive breakdowns, diagnosing faults and delivering timely, effective solutions.
*
Perform annual gas safety checks and certification (CP12s) in line with legislation.
*
Work in occupied housing, maintaining excellent customer service and professionalism at all times.
*
Ensure all works comply with Gas Safety (Installation & Use) Regulations, manufacturer’s instructions, and client requirements.
*
Accurately complete all service records, job sheets, and compliance documentation.
*
Participate in an out-of-hours rota to provide emergency call-out support.
*
Promote health, safety, and compliance in all aspects of work.
Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience as a Domestic Gas Engineer, ideally within the social housing or FM sector.
*
Strong fault-finding, diagnostics, and repair skills.
*
Ability to work independently in tenants’ homes with a customer-focused approach.
*
Good communication and record-keeping skills.
Qualifications & Certifications
*
ACS Domestic Gas Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CPA1 minimum).
*
Gas Safe Registered (or eligible).
*
Full UK Driving Licence.
*
Additional H&S or compliance training (e.g. Asbestos Awareness, Working at Heights) desirable.
