Job Description

Door Technician & Team Leader – Rolling Stock Passenger Door Overhauls.

Ford & Stanley Talentwise, specialists in rail recruitment, are seeking experienced Door Technicians and Team Leaders to support a major Rolling Stock passenger door overhaul project in the South West of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team working on essential upgrades to passenger train fleets, ensuring safety, reliability, and performance across the UK rail network.

The Opportunity.

As a Door Technician & Team Leader, you will:

Perform passenger door overhauls using schematics, diagnostic tools, and test equipment.
Carry out electrical testing, fault-finding, and functional checks on door systems.
Ensure work meets strict safety and quality standards in a depot environment.
Lead and coordinate a small team, allocating tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring delivery targets are met.
Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
Liaise with engineers, project managers, and customers regarding progress and technical queries.

What We’re Looking For.

NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience working on Rolling Stock door systems.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
Proven leadership experience in a rail or engineering environment.

Location & Hours.

South West England with travel to other sites is required. 
Monday – Friday, Day shifts (Flexible working hours may be available)

What’s on Offer.

Salary banding between £45,000 per year, up to £50,000. Overtime opportunities to increase your take home.
Death in Service benefit.
Maternity / Paternity allowances.
Sick Pay.
